Hey all,

The other day I posted up in General chat a little album of my progress over the past year odd in Astrophotography. After many encouraging replies I decided instead of going back out and taking more photos of the same thing I'd go back and try harder on the reprocessing. So I spent all night without touching my scope manually stacking images from the other night using photoshop. I then set all the layer to 'Lighten' and it looked really nice. I played around with that and got it looking nice then I added a dark frame over top of everything and set it to 'Pin light'(?) to bring more detail in the centre out without losing the fainter parts of the picture. I also removed some of the lighter frames from the set to reduce the noise.

Sorry about the link It was taking AGES to upload to: http://www.astrobin.com/80516/

ANY Tips at all would be greatly appropriated.

It's by no means anywhere near the quality of what normally gets posted here so if this should get moved to another area let me know and I'll remake it :) [

Hi Matt

A good effort.

Firstly concentrate on good acquisition of data, that being, good focus, good tracking and guiding.

Enough exposure for the object your shooting.

A good pre processing routine including good reduction set.

Develop a good post processing routine and stick to It so your eye will develop.

Learn some color theory so you understand how color is perceived.

Have fun !
