Just released, new flagship camera from Nikon.

I'll have to check on RAW samples to see what that looks like. It seems the low light king just got strengthened.

I wonder if the redesigned sensor is the same as the one in the DF? That had a slightly better performance than the D4 sensor. Not much but a bit.

Max shutter speed 1/8000 sec. What would happen if you set max ISO and max aperture on a sunny day? Could the sensor actually be damaged?

The resolution of 'only' 16MP makes such high iso 400k possible.

The highest ISO settings are really for bragging rights or in extreme and desperate situations, not something you'd use in normal circumstances.
My D3s goes to ISO 102,000 but the results aren't what you'd want to show anyone.

The shot taken at 25600 on the D4s is still of reasonable professional quality.

Definitely, as long as exposure is OK you can use quite high ISO, on all Nikon's later pro (photo-journalist/sports) full frame bodies.

The D4 is a generation past the D3s, although it didn't have a leap forward in high ISO capability, but now the D4s seems to have at least a stop advantage if not more.
