Hi Guys,

Finally a clear Melbourne night last night so i can retest my autoguiding. Once again on M8 . Much better results than previously .

Consist of 20 x 84 second exposure stacked with GSO 8" DSI II, autoguided on 4" newt with DSI.

Cheers :)

Very nice Eric,

I guess you will soon be going for longer exposures and less of them, now that the auto-guiding is working.

thanks Lester :) Hopefully longer exposures but depends on what objects im imaging. I have tried longer with M8 and the mid-section tends to blow out. Unless i do layer masking to it.

It certainly appears your life got a lot easier with autoguiding, and a little "not so easy" in the initial stages.

Now you just need to get a spare scope so you can have one imaging while you view through the spare at the next target! With all the images you are taking lately, are you publishing your own DSI/NGC catalogue?

I think when I eventually get into imaging, I will quickly gravitate to autoguiding!

i should have done autoguiding much longer than i have started. it is easier but at the sametime, i got abit confused with the setting up process. Especially trying to make the EQ6 into thinking it is a LX200.

some good colours there, nice subtle variations of colour throughout.
