Vixen camera adapter

Is the Vixen camera adapter on the Andrews website a universal (bracket-type) one? As there are no photos I am not sure and I haven't found their model on the Vixen website.

:shrug: Is this the one that clamps to the eyepiece and holds a small point and shoot / mobile phone over the eyepiece to take photo's .
If so most are generic chineese made and sold by many 3rd parties and the better ones are very well made and work well .

Thanks, yes, the Chinese ones are really cheap on eBay. But the one on the Andrews website could even just be a ring or something else, not even a bracket-type adapter. I think the safest choice for me is the Seben one. Not too expensive and hopefully reliable. The reviews are usually good. :)

Not sure which one the Andrews site refers to but, the second one appears identical to the Orion SteadyPix Deluxe which BINTEL stock for considerably cheaper than the one shown on the above website.

Edit: Did a bit of an internet search for the code associated with the product on the Andrews site. On reflection, might not be either of the products shown on the MyAstroShop website. Appears it might be a specific adapter for Vixen LV EPs. Might be worth calling Andrews to clarify.

Looks like a physical guide for you to shove the lens down...cameras with optical zooms extend their nose when in operation. I'm guessing of course. Holding the camera could be interesting :D

Yes, cameras with optical zoom do that, but it is also possible to disable that they retract it when not in operation, or the camera would fall! ;)
