Suspected drug overdose. Didn't seem like the type.

Didn't seem the type:question:
He has been on drugs for years according to the ABC News ,also too Rehab etc.
There is NO rational when it comes to what people will do when they are drug addicts, so I am informed.
BTW I had never heard of him till this morning with the ABC News 24 giving his death star billing and spending considerable time on it, even bringing Lisa Miller in from New York to give us up to ten minutes run down of events, including saying he was found with a needle sticking in his arm.
Must be Very little happening in the world for the ABC to make this story the lead story.
After the third time running the story in about 1 hour, I turned the TV off.
Cheers:thumbsup:

Yeah after reading seems he had been at it for a while. Saw that on the news early this morning at the gym and although I had seen him in a couple of roles I didn't really know him. He just didn't struck me as an addict just by the way he looks. Always very well kept. Funny how people who have everything going on for them sometime make a total mess out of it.

He was an excellent actor and I enjoyed his work. RIP.

(I wasn't aware of the drug thing, either. I don't think I should have been, though, as what he did in his own time is not necessarily newsworthy and he has a right to privacy like everyone else).

Really? That comes across as a cold response.

FYI He was an fantastic Oscar winning actor, who was very popular with human beings.

Well, I liked him and I'm sorry he is gone.

Whether you think I am a human being or not ? which by the way I am ;)
I don't think the hype and coverage the ABC gave his passing was warranted.
He died from what is suspected of an over dose of drugs.
No one forces you into drugs taking,if you take recreational drugs you suffer the consequence.
In the Media frenzied world this type of coverage is bound to happen, but I thought the ABC was over the top in it's coverage.
End of story.
Cheers:thumbsup:

I'm with Ron on this.....

Why...if you have all the fame and adoration and the wealth to go with it....and then get yourself ' topped ' by some stupid ' mind bending drug ...and then lose the lot....permanently.
No apologies here.....yes... it's tragic....and senseless.....There's been enough education around about drugs for decades and decades.....
He had everything ...money. beautiful Wife and kids....didn't need to ' want ' for anything .......

I'm not being ' judgmental '... just that I see such a contrast between ' having it all ' ..... yet loosing it in an instant.
Life is like a ' vapour ' ...here one day.....gone the next.....just like that.......

I just don't get it......

Flash...

He was a very talented actor and self inflicted addiction or not it is a sad and lonely way to die. I just get sick of the throw-away term Rehab that always appears in these stories. Having experienced a family member suicide from an addiction I feel for Hoffman's family...shame he didn't give much thought to them.
