It's been stinking hot most clear nights in Sydney but I managed to get my butt out yesterday as the evening was nice and cooler to setup. Out of practice and not everything worked as it was supposed to. My Sharpsky Pro focuser didn't connect to the USB lappie for some obscure reason and I lost a couple of hours trying to figure it out then focused manually, until I started imaging around 10:00pm. Clouds rolled in at 3:30am but I had it all done by them . Very dewy night but cool and no breeze. Also got the ada[ter spacing wrong for the camera (again). Pics are cropped and 'pretty' but I won't be made accountable for any retina scaring so don't look too hard.
IC2944 is 5x10min with Hyperstar and QHY9, Baader Ha 7nm on G11.
Bigger ones here (http://www.astropic.net/astro/IC2944_ha_HS3_HD_c.jpg)(cropped) and here (http://www.astropic.net/astro/IC2944_ha_HS3_HD.jpg)(full field).
NGC3576 is 5x10min with Hyperstar and QHY9, Baader Ha 7nm on G11.

Two panels stitched together in Registar for each DSO.
Thanks for looking and keep cool.

Good to see some images from you, Marc. They turned out quite well even if the acquisition wasn't as smooth as you would have liked!

Both shots look quite good Marc, seamless, smooth and nice detail for just 50mins Ha each  You seem to have that Hyperstar tamed! I was up last night imaging as well until cloud cover increased around 3am, though interestingly I did not have much dew - must be my elevation here (~230 metres).

Good stuff Marc!
Both are good but NGC 3576 is my favourite!
Nice contrast in the middle of the nebula.
Cheers,
Justin.

Thanks guys.
Hi David, it got quite wet quickly. Maybe you're getting more air circulation where you are. I'm next to a creek in a deep. Seeing wasn't crash hot either.

Nice results Marc!
Dont you just hate it when its a clear night and you think your ready to go then some silly USB peripheral decides to give hours of trouble. :mad2:
The focus turned out very good anyway!:)

Both images still look pretty good in spite of your problems.
Cheers
Steve
I've never seen really good Hyperstar images. Until now.

Yeah I wasn't impressed... But over the years I have perfected the ultimate beep test between the lappie and the pier for 'remote' focusing. The legs and the fingers still work.
Thanks Steve. Focus is still soft and I still don't understand why I managed to get the wrong spacer again. And I had made a note for it last time.
Thanks John, I'll take it but with all due respect you need an eye test. ;). Here's a plot from CCDIS on one original panel. Thanks very much anyway. :2thumbs:
