picked up a NEQ-6 mount yesterday, talk about heavy! Yes I know there are bigger ones out there, but heck, this is enough I think.

Stuck my trusty EOS 5D mark 3 on the mount, did some ridiculously rough alignment (I hadn't yet learned how to speed the slew up, so I left one of the target stars waaay off), but was still very impressed with the accuracy for now. With a 200mm lens, any exposure longer than 2 secs shows trailing, whereas with the mount, I was able to do 30 or even higher. Had problems focussing as you see.

This shot is just the 10 second stacks though, 5 of them, even with a few flats. It's still crap but it's my best image yet, I'm happy.

I used an ipad with a blank email for the flats! Is that doable? I was holding it, so it was moving during the exposure and didn't reveal the vignetting I hoped.

Also, i processed this in Nebulosity, but found the nebula was far redder/purplier in the raw image than any image that was brought into Neb. Whats' going on there? should I convert to a tif in DPP first, before processing in DSS? I tried opening a single image in Neb and it did lose alot of colour.

Thanks Andy, and hope you had a great dark sky session last night. I'll dream of doing that one day.

It was real humid last night, at one point I put a lense on a glass table and the whole front fogged up.
