Anyone live in Caloundra?

Hi,
I live in Caloundra and at age 54 recently got my first telescope a Celestron 6SE.

Apparently there was an Astronomy club in Caloundra some years back, but alas for what reason I am not sure but it no longer exists.

If you live in Caloundra and would like company one night when taking your scope out let me know and if I am available I would love to come along and learn a few things, no doubt
i will have a question or two........
and if you have a nexstar SE all the better as I can then learn how to best use mine.

I will not be available on Thursday nights but generally other evenings should be o.k

Or if you prefer we could meet for a coffee at the local supermarket and have a chat about good places around Caloundra to use telescopes etc.

Ian, there are a few members around that area, Lewis lives at Sippy Downs.
There used to be a gathering every now and then at Mooloolaba Beach for a bit of Outreach, not sure if they still gather there.

I also saw a few guys with scopes at Dicky Beach, but I moved from there in 2010.

I'm ~ roughly 30 to 40mins drive South from you.....but I'm a shift worker...so that won't always be convenient.

I live about 30 mins south as well but work at Sippy Downs. I am generally up there 4 or 5 days a week but working from home at the moment.

Thanks all for your comments, maybe in time someone else whom lives here will drop a line.
I dont want to make it a regular thing, just now and then once in a while, it will be a good way for me to learn from others as I am new to all this and astro clubs are too far from me.
