Do you do a lot of solar imaging in the arvo Dave? I find 10-12 works best for me (to avoid thermals and get best seeing). Maybe I'll have to try in the arvos again when the occasion arises.

well the arvo seems to be the only time i can get sometimes - so mainly i dont have a choice. I am hoping tomorrow will be clear and sunny in the morning and cloud free - i want to chase that sunspot complex - its huge and bigger than the first time. i like to get the sun from 10-12 as well, thoug sometimes i get better seeing from 2-4, getting home from work at 5-5:30 can b problematic:sadeyes:

Looks like you were using the SBIG self guide mode and had trouble framing your subject due to the lack of a conveniently placed bright guide star ...strange, as I think I can see a suitable star there  :P
Very cool capture Houghy

LOL no I was taking segments to piece together for a full frame image later. Be selling the SBIG – just Bought a FLI ;)
I didn't know you took up plane spotting Dave.
And as a bonus you captured the sun too !
Well done.
PS. Photoshop can rotate image frames for yah. :P
