Bit of an experiment..

Processed the best six out of nine three minute captures for the night. Identical workflow settings in AS!2, Astra Image and ACDSee (1200 frame drizzle stack, 8 apts).

Interestingly AutoStakkert analysed 17:54 avi as being the best in quality followed by 17:57, 17:44, 17:50, 18:00 and 17:47 files. I actually think 17:44 image has the best contrast / detail around the north polar cap.

I've combined these into 15 minute animations here
http://astrob.in/full/75321/0/ (colour)
http://astrob.in/full/75322/0/ (monochrome)

Thanks for looking,
Seb

These are excellent and well processed images. I hope you send them to ALPO or some other place where they can be put to scientific use.

A very consistent body of work there Sebastian, the seeing was consistent at least for the duration of this run. Your processing looks fine, well done.

Cheers

Thanks Stefan, I've just tried submitting to ALPO but not sure if this is the right address: @@ @[alpo-obs@nifty.com]@.

Took me a while to calculate CM and Ls values for the mid capture point..

Thanks Maurice.

Thanks Trevor, I should've said 'Mars in steady seeing'
