Here it is!

Can someone correct me if it's a flare or prominence because I did a Google search on both and was confused.

Thanks,
Stefan.

;)to borrow from the Ward Memorial Higher Education College (http://www.atscope.com.au/luntsolar/luntsolar.html) :D it says :
PROMINENCES H-Alpha emission features that resemble "flames" projecting beyond the edge of the sun, consisting of complex clouds or streamers of gas above or in the chromosphere. They generally come in two broad classes: Active (limb flares, surges, sprays, loops), and Quiescent (Quiet Region Filaments, Active Region Filaments).

welcome to the solar world of the vacuum - it seems as though solar is the poorest kid on the block and ends up at the bottom of the list to view or comment on. next is planetary imaging then your into the beginning deep space stuff moving right on up to galaxy class and above where most go looking. So considering there are only a few people doing solar work, you end up with the same comments and people looking at your work, which for a population of over 10000 on IIS results in 0.05% responding to your post.

I started to put my posts on the solar chat forum - learning heaps there too.

I signed up and have an account on that website but I forgot the link, can you link me to it?

Thanks!

;) No worries mate , keep it up .
I loved Ha viewing when I had my Coranado as well , super addictive and I might grab some bits and start again but using my Tak sky90 , I think Gary Beal in NZ has a few adaptors for that ....
