Hi All
The clouds in Sydney stayed away the last two nights and I managed some extended time with the Ha filter (7nm) under a lovely full moon and ordinary seeing.
The attached is about 10 hours exposure (20 min subs) with the STL6303 and RC10. I was surprised how difficult it was to get some depth into the image before things got too noisy.
Certainly an interesting grouping of objects but deserving of much more Ha exposure, a big dash of RGB and of course... a dark sky. :) Thanks for looking.

I really like the way you've done that. Nice and "bubbly".

Hi Ted
You've got a lot of detail and depth in that. Look great, one of my favorite objects. It looks really good in NB, just look at Fred's version.
I did an hour and have been waiting for the clouds to clear to add more data. S2 and o3 are very faint in this.
Cheers

Thanks Alistair. No doubt you'll be waiting a while with S2 & O3 !
Thank you.

Hi Ted,
That's quite good.
The stars do look a little hardened - just processing.
BTW - what binning did you use if any?
cheers
Allan
I would guess that your sub exposures are a little short for RC10. f/8 right? All of my FSQ subs are 40 minutes with the 16803.
I'd double the exposure time for your subs and do a lot of them.
There is great deal of information in that image. The 6303 has massive QE at 656nm, so just continue to add exposure, you'll see the SNR change dramatically.

Thanks, yes I think I tend to get caught in a routine and 20 min subs was my routine :)
Thanks Allan
Yes agree, I did not protect the stars well enough, will revisit to reduce and fade edges. No binning used, taken at at 1x1
Thank you Greg. Yes it has wonderful variety and this makes this series of objects facinating!
