I took spectra of the 3 bright stars in Orions belt a couple of nights ago. This is for a project called The Orion Project (http://www.hposoft.com/Orion/Orion.html) but I thought I would show them here as well. The 3 stars are delta Ori, Eps Ori and Zeta Ori.
All are hot O stars so show similar spectra. As they are very hot they are very bright in the blue.
They have faint Hydrogen absorption lines plus He lines.

Nice spectra, Terry.
Looks like an interesting project. Would have been good if they'd included Theta 2 Ori, in the trapezium. It's a Be star with fluctuating emission lines. I had a crack at it with the Star Analyzer, but without a slit I couldn't get away from all the signal from the nebula itself.

Does look interesting.
What is the main objective - looking for variation in these stars or improving ones skills to produce accurate data??

I think the main objective is to experiment with methods of archiving spectra from different sources. I must admit I have decided not to contribute anything more until it is a bit more mature as I think there is a bit of learning yet to be done by the organisers.
