The First in Australia

I'm picking up my CPC 9.25 this afternoon. :jump2:
I strongly suspect that it is the first or at least one of the first in Australia.
Of course so far today we have typical "new telescope" weather. ie. cold, windy & cloudy.

Anyway, I'll let you all know how it goes.

Well, as predicted 100% cloud cover here now. Earlier this afternoon it was looking very promising with a nice sunny day so at about 3 o'clock I took the scope out and set it up to have a bit of a play. All seemed to function as expected and the GPS acquired sync. and I was able to do an alignment by telling it it was pointing to Jupiter. By 3:30 the clouds had rolled in so I packed it all up. Let's see how the weather goes tomorrow...

I gave some very serious thought to purchasing the same, but couldn't wait and purchased the 9.25 OTA and sat it atop the EQ6 with SynScan.

Well Matt I was considering getting what you have now. ie. the C925 with EQ6 but I decided that I would be doing 99% visual work so I went the other way and took the fork mount. It still gives me the option of doing some imaging if I want and I thought that the CPC would be more easily portable which is important for me.

The way the weather's going it doesn't look like I'll get much chance this week. When I came home this evening I could see large patches of clear sky but it soon closed up again and now there's even some light rain.

First light tonight. Managed to get a good look at Jupiter and Omega Centauri before the clouds became a nuisance and the corrector dewed up.

Brian, if Friday's a good night I'll take the scope up the hill.
