Hi,
I've been going through some of my old astro images, this one from 1992 on film.
It's of an Astro camp at Bowman Park in South Australia.
It's still my favourite nightscape.
Camera. Pentax SLR, 35mm wide angle lens at F/3.5 , Fuji 400 film 15 minute exposure.
Cheers,
Justin.

Hi Justin, that's nice.
Your film pic reminded me of my favourite night scene which also just happens to be on film. This was taken either in 1980 or 1981 with my very first SLR, a Zenit EM, 50mm F2 lens and Kodak ISO 400 film. Exposure was most of the night. Illumination is from a single distant street light and skyglow (how I miss those days). The camera was rested on the window ledge while I went to sleep. It was one of my first star trail pics and I got a bonus short bright meteor trail.
Since then neighbours and shops have sprouted everywhere along with a dozen bright orange sodium street lights. :(

Thanks Kevin!
No tripod and sleep too, what a great pic!!
Simplicity sometimes produces a memorable scene.
Cheers,
Justin.

A very nice looking old photo Justin from the days when night photos were very "hit and miss".
I have an old star trail over Ayres Rock photo that I took back in 1980 on Kodachrome film that I will try to dig out.

Your right about hit and miss, lost count of how many dud film images I have!
Look forward to seeing your Ayres Rock pic.

Justin.

This is one of my favourite nightscapes, taken at Rawnsely Park Station, in the Flinders Ranges.
I was lucky enough to capture this meteor, as it burned out.
It was amazing to see, so I was happy to get the image, even though it was not quite in focus.
