Well I figured out a way to mount the Lunt wedge to Anne-Louise's 71mm ZenithStar AND acheive focus. Much better day for it... no cirrus, but still have to dodge some of the fluffy stuff.

As mentioned, WO ZenithStar 71, Lunt Herschel wedge, Televue 4x Powermate, Canon 450D, 35 frames stacked in Registax 5.1, processed in Photoshop CS5, Topaz Detail 3 plug-in.

The disk is just a bit too large for a single frame. I tried to process another set that included the top of the disk but registax had a spak attack and only wanted to stack only 2 frames. The first one has 35 frames.

ok I stack the images - leave it at that then the raw stacked filed i crop to get a clean edge, then in photoshop is use the autocombine photomerge feature and combine the sectors, then flatten save and then into registax to then apply wavelets save then back into PS to tweak and crop to suit:question:

Thanks David, the issue was that Registax wouldn't stack properly, only using 2 frames from 50.

Let it have a little rest an I was able to coax it to stack 16 frames to complete the image.

Thought the 1st image was Grouse, that second one is even betterra.
Dig them Granulations throughout the surface, & good details around them spots, pretty awesome stuff !

Thanks Bob. I love the colour that the wedge gives the sun, and the clarity.
