Taking inspiration from the ATCA images of Mike and the "experimental lights" of bloodhound31, I was fortunate to have a take on it when I went on a 1 week 2,265km roadtrip with my wife and 2 yr old. The first half of the trip was more geeky, science stuff visiting the Parkes radio telescope, doing the solar system drive from Dubbo to Siding Spring, and finally a night at the ATCA in Narrabri. The rest of the trip was all nature tripping and waterfall hopping down Waterfall Way going to Coffs Harbour, then back down to Sydney.
Anyway, here are a few shots from my short stint there. Couldn't really get how Mike and the others who've been there were able to get shots from other angles as I was restricted to just the visitors area being my first time there. Is there a way to the other side, Mike?
1st image: The moon was shining bright so even a short exposure created a daylight-like image.
2nd image: ... and the dish ran away with the moon :screwy:
3rd image: my starfleet shuttlecraft capable of a scaled warp speed during the solar system drive (http://www.solarsystemdrive.com/) :P
4th and 5th image: energize...!
