I decided not to put this post in the Classifieds as it is not so much selling an item, and more of using the member base here on IIS to find a home for some 105-year-old publications.

I have had a small collection of "The Illustrated London News" from April-May-June 1908 in my possession for some years but it is time to have clean out and they need to go.

Ideally I want to find someone who would take them - free of charge of course rather than going into the recycling bin. Some editions have pictures cut out - I understand this probably occurred as early as the 1920's. They have been in the family since their purchase date

Those who are not familiar with this publication (I doubt many are these days) here some links:

If any members are interested or they know of a good home I'd be happy to hear from you.

I dare say the state library would be interested. Plus they'd be able to preserve them properly.

Thanks hobbit,
I have made inquiries with the State Library and they are getting back to me but it is unlikely as they state they have access to most of these publications "online".

Well the State Library replied to and they are not interested in taking them, and given their explanation it is quite understandable.
(1) Most Australian State libraries focus on Australian publications.
(2) The London Illustrated News was as common as any daily newspaper today and almost every library in the UK and across Europe are probably full of them.

I've salvaged the best 4 of the collection and the rest are out in the recycling bin.
