Hi everyone,

and Happy New Year.

Got my first imaging session of Mars this morning under average seeing conditions but quite pleased with the size of Mars after not having imaged the planet for several years. Should be amazing within a few months.

As usual, the Blue channel was the most challenging to process.

1000 frames in Red (attached) and RGB (attached) processed.

Shot with a 12.5 f/5 scope and Skynix 2.0 camera using a 5 x Barlow from Brunswick, Melbourne.

Clear skies,

John K.

Hi John,

I would be very interested in the exact capture times for these images as I was up imaging Mars too.
My seeing completely fell apart around 5:30 just before completing my RGB set.
Will post later when I have time for processing.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

I captured between 5:05 and 5:12 am. Yes, once dawn really broke at 5:10am the seeing became really poor that's why my Red Chanel which I shot first was the best one.

Now for a go at the Sun!

Cheers,

John K.
