One of my favourite places in New Zealand, is beautiful Lake Matheson.
On favourable mornings, the reward for your early morning hiking aspirations is a crystal clear and calm lake offering pristine reflections of the alpine spectacle before your eyes.
Not the most conducive cloud cover formation for a landscape image (covering Mount Cook wholesale), but, after a failed attempt the morning prior, I was thankful for the fire in the sky this second morning's attempt.
This is an image from a previous spring campaign of the South Island.

There is really not much I can say, this is a perfect image! Just incredible. :eyepop:
I don't think there exist any better images of Lake Matheson, and it's one of the top photo spots in NZ. I hope you get some serious recognition for this H, well done.
Do you still have many from that trip lying around? If so I can't wait to see them.

Thanks, everyone for looking and commenting.
I also feel it is one of my better works. The waiting and patience paid off.
Rolf, many thanks, mate. As I gear up for Iceland (next month), I'm going through my backlog of images. From this particular trip, there is quite a lot of images awaiting processing. On that particular trip, I was trying to shoot a mixture of abstract/personal work as well as grandiose landscapes. I have quite a few personal images to get through. Just by looking at the thumbnails in Digital Photo Professional, I'm quite pleased to say that they all have a very similar look and feel. I felt like that I had found /me/ in my images -- my own style -- even if it was for just one trip. I think they would make a nice collection of their own and prints hanging side-by-side would work rather well.

Bit late on this one H but it is pretty bloody nice...you could almost hang it upside down and it would be hard to pick the reflection, must have been a still morning
