G’day everyone,

First proper post in the Deep Space section, a semi deep image of the Hyades Cluster.

Taken with my modded and cooled 350D over two nights, unguided on my wooden horse shoe mount. With a Nikon 85mm 1.8 lens at F8.

This is my first ‘deep’ image, 210x180 second subs. 10.5 hours.

I imaged this a while ago when I was trying out my mono sensor and captured lots of dust that I was told was Galactic Cirrus, so I’ve tried it again with the colour sensor and have got this.

It took a lot of processing in Nebulosity and Aperture, as I had some bad gradients and amp glow, not sure if I’ve got the colours right.

As always, if you’ve got any tips or improvements I’m glad to hear them.

Check out the large Here. (http://astrob.in/71123/0/)

And the inverted monochrome Here. (http://astrob.in/71123/0/?mod=inverted)

Cheers
Jo

Impressive Jo!

The large image in astrobin really shows it well.
Amazing what your getting out of that camera!

Excellent and good going getting some dust to show up there!..not sure it is Galactic Cirrus though ...I think it is more like faint molecular cloud, which is different stuff, but I could be wrong..?

Thanks Cam, Rolf, and Trevor

Thanks a lot Justin :)

Thanks Mike  I wouldn't have a clue what it is, but was just told it might be Galactic Cirrus  I don't know enough to tell. I've had a look around trying to find it in other Hyades images but there isn't many.
