Any members know anything about Audacity, Help appreciated

Hi Guys, just wondering if there is anyone out there, that has/uses the program Audacity ?

I have some recordings that have heaps of background noise and some vocal input as well, however the vocal is hard to pick out over the noise.

In the program Audacity is there anyway to just pick out the vocal and scrap the background noise altogether.

I am pretty new to this program and am having difficulty finding the right buttons to click, so to speak. :shrug:

Any help would be much appreciated.:thumbsup:

yeah..i use the program...there is a way...let me look...

ok...what you need to do is have a section of the track that is just the noise first...you can highlight this section first. Then goto effect, noise removal. This will open a dialog box. now you can go with the default settings there or change them as needed. Pretty much click get noise profile button and it will create a noise profile and remove it from your whole track...simple...
