The only prob with that is if there is little wind then the haze will stay.
We're in burn off mode here and it's been a real pain at night.

Ken,

Have you got that stuff.... ummm... errrr.... I think it's called Soap-opera Gu
You just rub it all over ya head, and you wake up complete with nicely
brushed hair, clean shaven, sleep washed out of your eyes and not
a crinkle in ya p-jamas... It work a treat!

For those of you like me that will be traveling long distances to get to
Astrofest. It might pay for you to go fill the car up today. Crude is going
up by the second at present. And I'm sure the oil companies will be
pushing up prices early in the week, due to what's currently going on
in the Middle East. So who know's someone might fart in tin-buck-2
and push them up even higher!

Just filled up at $116.9 per litre (120.9 pump price - 4c/litre Coles voucher) which was a "bargain". Sheesh, when I landed in Oz in Aug 1993 it was 54c per litre. My salary hasn’t increased by that ratio :( , so I don’t know how the Govt calculates annual inflation figures. :screwy: :screwy:

Cheers

Hi Rob
The petrol prices here in Qld are somewhat cheaper than NSW because of the Gov 10 percent subsidy and maybe some help to the guys from south travelling to Astrofest or at least the trip back. The BP at Colinton just south of Astrofest always have good prices on their fuel simiular to Brisbane.
Checked today with Motor Mouth and showed a few servos at $1.19 a litre for Brisbane

Dave

  petrol 1 day ago was 146.9, this morning it was 137.9 so with a 4cent voucher it came down to 133.9. I have up my sleave 2 20 cents per litre vouchers to use on the way up to queensland and on the way home. in theory that should save me around 24 dollars:) , the sad note is that if the "middle east" goes up we probably will be paying over 1.50 a litre when we return

If the middle east goes up Dave you'll be walking home.

That too, Hope I don't break down either

I don't know how the BP at Colinton can sell at such low prices. They have been doing it for years. You are driving along, and then you come across a servo with the cheapest prices west of the divide in the middle of nowhere, like a mirage.

went and filled up this morning in Casino $1.39-7 lt, and $95.00 to fill an
already 1/4 filled tank. I love how they are allowed to attach a 0.x of a
cent, like bananna's are scarce but I dont see them being sold @ $5.00-5
per kg. They're already saying it's going to sky rocket during the week.

But oh well what can you do, when it seems any excuse to up the fuel
price is a goer even though supplies haven't been disrupted. And they
will prolly keep telling us that line long after any cause for concern has
passed. Two weeks ago it was someone else not even anywhere near
oil producing regions.

Rob

PS: Next year I've leave a week earlier for astrofest and take the neigbors
horse and cart lol...

Just got back from the Astrofest Duckadang...just went for a day visit to meet some more of the iceinspace members....it was nice to meet another 8 members to add to my ever growing list.

Weather was very cloudy with occasional showers.....Houghy and Jennette were upset the counter weight throwing competition was cancelled due to insurance cover for sporting events.

Houghy has some nice images he is done through his ED80....yet to be processed.

I timed it to perfection so I was included in the Group photo both the general Astrofest and Iceinspace photo......lol

Dennis has in ambaracing but educational conversation that he can explain....lol

Geez you're a young bloke Houghy.

It was 11 cents a litre when I started driving. I used to overfill my 1968 model Fiat 124 sports on $5 worth of juice.

I once recall driving into a service station and then driving out because his fuel was too expensive at 14.2 cents per litre. I noticed the sign on the one next door at 12.8 cents per litre so I drove out of one into the other. If only they were still around :)

Wow, what a weekend!
It was a pity about the cloud on Saturday night, but that just meant that there was some serious socializing to be done.
"The Dennis Incident" will certainly be remembered for quite a while.
I'll post some piccies of the weekend later.
