Hello,

Anyone know any places that do a good, and affordable, job of cutting metal to specifications.

For example if I want this type tube to go to that size and have thread inside etc.

Yeah I know it is easier to purchase premade stuff but I have some ideas for a future project I would like to follow up on.

I am Googling for it but if anyone has anyone can point me in the right direction. I should mention I live within Sydney.

:thanx: :D

Depends on what you want done.

There are small sheet metal shops in the industrial area of most suburbs. I found one in the Castlehill industrial area that also had a high pressure water cutter for making special shapes and other specialized machines

If it is machining and engineering work there are machine shops in the same area. For commercial machining on my projects in the plastics industry I used a small machine shop in Chard Rd Brookvale. I gave him many weird ideas to make and he always came through. He has computerized machining as well.

However if you have good drawings there are machine shops in Hong Kong that can probably make what you want in a couple of days at much cheaper rates than locally.

For myself however I have a reasonable workshop and can make most things I need when I need including threaded adapters.
