Hi Guys, of late i have been listening to recordings with small portions of vocal input, and large amounts of background noise.

I have reduced the recordings to the vocal length, that i need through Audacity, that worked well, however, the input files were MPG, but now that i have saved them through Audacity they are now Audacity files.

The question is this, what is the best way to re/save in MPG.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Leon,

Can't help you with MPG format, but if you just want a compressed audio format then you could use MP3. You can write out files in MP3 format from Audacity if you download and install an additional encoder. Details are here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq_i18n?s=install&i=lame-mp3

Cheers,
Rick.

Leon, use the "Export" function under the "File" menu to save the files in any format Audacity supports. I'm not sure if it is still the case, but to create MP3 you used to have to install the LAME encoder.
