Hi everyone,

Still brushing up on my processing skills (or lack of).

VERY nice, loads of fine detail visible in this one, and I love the new look colouration you're producing. Much less saturated and more "natual" looking.

Thanks Mike.

Amazing how much detail you can see ...now the saturation has backed off "a bit":D

I'm loving the new look of your joops Lester. Look at the rippling detail in those equatorial belts, particularly the belt below centre.

Magnifico!!!!

Fantastic Lester. I'm betting we'll start to see copycat processing for Jupiters appearing over the next couple of weeks. That is a great effect and does an excellent job on enhancin the detail. Just the sort of thing I've been looking for. Would you care to supply a few more details on getting that effect?

That's a great image, Lester. Congratulations! Really natural looking, smooth, and so much detail. Have you radically changed your processing procedure? With the weather we've beein having in SA for the last couple of weeks there's not much else to do but practice on old footage.

Thanks for your replies, Matt, Phil, Paul, Peter, and Greame.

Basically all that I have done extra in processing is reduce saturation by up to 20%, to reduce the colours that are there on the avi.

Hi everyone,

In my opinion the seeing conditions from the 14 May were the best I have had, even better than June 23. They are the only images I can do the RGB split on and the blue channel is as smooth as the green and red channels. So with that in mind I thought I may be able to post a larger image without any deteriation of detail. I tried resampling at 1.2 and 1.5 and both were not as sharp as the original by a long way.

What fantastic imaging... well worth the extra reprocessing. Hang on to that Meade 14 SCT, I can see it becoming and "in demand" item;)

The only way Lester will be getting rid of his SCT is if someone steals it!;)

Better put another lock on your observatory mate!!:evil2:
