Either Santa was lost/delayed, or the ISS passed on a line just a couple of kms from me this morning at around breakfast time.

I have tried on several prior occasions to catch it, but it has either been cloudy, or I've been busy, or 3 times out of the country or Interstate. In fact, when I came to look at the video, I thought I had missed it again, but on closer inspection, there it was, all 1.08 seconds of it.

Taken through my C9.25 with a Canon 7D in movie mode with a Thousand Oaks visual filter.

25 exposures of 1/2000 sec at f 6.3, ISO 250, stacked in Zerene Stacker. The whiter of the 2 composites has been adjusted in Photoshop, the yellow one is basically out of the camera.

All in all, a good Christmas present to myself, and I'm happy.

Have a good New Year everybody.

Hi Mike,

Great capture. Hoping to bag one at some stage.
All the best for the New Year.

Great shooting Mike and well done on recording this exciting event.

Cheers

Dennis

PS – I count 25 ISS frames, not 22?

Dennis, my apologies!! Yes, 25 visible captures is correct, but there are also 2 more, one before the first, and another after the last, so 27 in all. The timing is correct, 25 frames at 25fps, + 2, making 27 frames, and a total of 1.08 secs. Put it down to Old Age.

Dennis, I meant to say thanks for your input yesterday. I would have figured it out eventually, but you did make it easier for me, and your composite of the Bayside event in June 2011 was superb. I shall get me a Baader Photo filter to see if I can improve on the detail, which I think is rather average.

Nice work Mike.
Santa must've put on some weight with all the cookies and milk 'coz that's one looong train of Reindeer!
