A crack at Andromeda with 18x120s at ISO3200 on a 6D (modded) using a 70-200L f2.8 II + x2 TCII (400mm @5.6) on an Astrotrac. Drift aligned - no auto guiding. My second crack with fitswork using the star shrink function - something new I have learned that is proving very useful. I am truly stoked that I can get results like this with basic gear. I will have another crack and add data in the next week before new year. But, that 8" f4.0 newt with auto guiding is looking very attractive for a new year's resolution!

Amazing shot !
With 2 minute subs on 400mm on Fullframe no strict requirements on guiding are required.
The 6d should be better in noise reduction than the 5d3. For that reason I consider upgrading my 7d to a 6d.
