Hello there

This is my first post. I have great views to the East across Lake Macquarie. I have a Celestron 6SE but have not yet put it to full use.

All the best to everyone for the festive season

Welcome John, I also live on the west side of Lake Mac and we do enjoy very good sky conditions compared to the city boys.

You should get some great nights with your scope once this pesky moon goes to new towards the end of next week.

Hi John,
Welcome :welcome:

There are quite a few of us here on the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie area.

We have a dark site at Mangrove Mountain where we try to gather for observation sessions (and good cheer) once or twice a month (depending on moon phase and weather).

Some guys from Sydney and Newcastle often come too.

There is a map in the Star Parties.... forum, and there is generally a thread announcing the next intended outing.

It is Free to attend and you and anyone else are most welcome to attend.

Your 6SE is a nice piece of equipment, and you should get some good views from it.
Hope to see you around.

Hello from Perth!
Lets just say that us 'city boys' are jealous of the views you and your 6se will get :)
Welcome to IIS and have a happy holiday!
