Yesterday I was balancing a single tube (C8) and then aligning with the finderscope. I just had the handbox controller plugged in (no computer so no error codes to report). Four times when I was in a certain position - OTA facing NW at about 50', I pressed the RA arrow and it stalled-
I originally thought it was a balance issue so I rebalanced again and again.
Then it occurred to me that this is how it behaved when the RA cable became loose- nope not that either, checked twice.
Then I checked all the slack in the cables and moved it all over it's arc with no snag.
I then thought it was the cam stops so I tightened those.
There was a single cable hanging off the scope so no other source for snag or motor obstruction.
What else could it be?
(This mount was performing flawlessly with much greater loads only two weeks ago)
I haven't updated the software till now (as it wasn't broke!) so nothing else changed)
Any thoughts?

No idea, but worth trying on the SB forum is you have not done so already.

Any luck yet?

I suppose you have tried using TSX instead of the HC? I second Pal's advice.Put your issue up at SB.

Good luck,
Peter

The 2 threaded rods on either side of the cam stop adjuster are touchy.
They need to be just right as too tight and you get stalls and too loose and you get slippage.

As I recall SB says 2.25 to 2.5 turns back from fully screwed in is the right setting.

I adjusted the cam but still got slippage occurring. When I adjusted these it was fine. It took a few goes as at first I got stalls so backed it off a bit. Not too much or you get slippage. So a bit of trial and error there.
