Given the lack of horse heads in the deep space section I thought I'd post one just to be different. :P
Little affected by moon glow last night but seeing was reasonable. This is 3h in 5min subs with my C11 hyperstar. I have a bigger one here (http://www.astropic.net/astro/IC434_HS3_ha_ff.jpg).
If I had less sky glow and more data I could have more contrast but I was reasonably happy with that one. Haven't imaged for a while now and haven't used the C11 for over a year I reckon so I was happy it went smoothly enough. :)

Yeeeeah... nice I guess ...just needs some colour :D
Seriously though, needs some more brightness along the wall or it looks too flat IMO...but still a great result Froggenator

Thanks David. Yeah it behaved last night.
Tough crowd. I don't have dark skies to do proper color.
Nah... the relative luminosity is there compared to the flame which is much brighter. When the moon is down I'll get added contrast.
Thanks a lot Rod.
Thanks mate. Just good to be out again.

Nice detail and tight stars, Marc. You'd never think this was taken with a C11. Interesting diffraction spikes on Alnitak. Is it hte camera cable that causes this?
Must be the hyperstar config that produced the spikes ..
Beautiful !!!

Great work! I think it is no easy thing to handle the hyperstar, you can!

Thanks Graeme. Yes the shadow on all the stars at 7 o'clock is the cabling. So are the funky spikes on Alnitak. I should velcro all this. I'm a bit lazy. Next time. :P
Thanks Ian.
Thanks a lot Werner.

Love it Marc, look forward to see you colored Horsehead
For this runner, the FOV works for me plus the level of detail you have captured. Classic view.

Woooh back Horsey, thats an impressive result Marc, Ive always thought about a Hyperstar system, but a little out of my price range :confused2:
Your hand has picked it up well after 12 months, a bit like riding a horse hey ;)
Good work indeed

Thanks Steve. Looking forward to yours. I'm sure it will be a stunner.
Thanks Bob. I gathered my gear bit by bit over a long period of time. Like contrebande past SWMBO ;) C11 was second hand relatively cheap. The hyperstar was around $700.00 at the time when I bought it and it looked like a big camera adapter so didn't rise any eyebrows.
Thanks a lot Marco. I have to admit the framing wasn't of my own doing. The goto got me there and I started shooting the first 5min sub to see where I was. I though right on and kept going. :)
