OK folks, me wanting to maximise the sky cloud family work interface which means I have usually less than a night a week to observe/ take some photos- I have gone the Judas route and got myself a Hyperstar for the edge HD C8.
Any tips/advice/ recommendations?
I have currently a JMI motofocus on the C8 and a big dew shield -I have folded back the cables and I think I am collimated -though the test tonight was another cloud stopped play malarkey.
Any experienced tips?
Cheers

Congrats Graham :) I don't have any tips to share but I'm interested in doing this myself, so I'm interested in how you get on

Collimation will probably be your biggest challenge, get that sorted then point and shoot :)
What camera are you using? If it's a DSLR then wow! That's a pretty big obstruction on the C8. Mega data and deconvolution should help you there.
If your shooting from the suburbs and have a bit of light pollution, you'll need a LP filter.
Looking forward to some pic's

Will be using either an SXVR H9C or a QHY 8 pro.
I will look into an LP filter-any advice there?
Looking forward to simplifying my stuff a bit. Have rarely managed any LRGB this whole year!

No obstruction problems with those camera's
Either the 48mm IDAS Light Pollution Suppression filter or the Astronomik CLS-CCD will work. You could look at one of these (http://starizona.com/acb/Starizona-Filter-Slider---Complete-System-P3518C91.aspx) if you want to do LRGB , it will save you the hassle of taking the camera off to replace the filter.
