NGC 1532 is a barred spiral in Eridanus that is interacting with a dwarf elliptical galaxy NGC 1531, creating an unusual structure.

This was LRGB 150:40:40:40 mins over the past few nights. Something to do while waiting for the nova to rise ;-)

North is left.

EDIT: posted a slightly less harshly-stretched version

I love this galaxy, your image gives it a 3D feel.

John.

Cheers John. It is an amazing object. I've decided I need more L to bring out the fainter stuff, and maybe some Ha to bring out the star-forming regions in the bright asymmetrical band.
