And being the fussy sort:) . would like to paint it Meade Blue, so you cant pick it from the riggy dij item. If I go to the local shop and ask for Meade blue, Ill get looked at like there is a cactus growing out of my ear..So does anyone know of a close match , product and colour ???

Any help would be appreciated...

Does your local paint shop have a colour matching service ? If so take your guide scope in and let them do a computer colour match.

wanna see some piccys now though !

It's very much like Epson Blue, just ask for that!!

:P

Seriously though - when I used to own a computer company I used to get advertising guide stuff from Epson as one of their dealers, and they would specify the exact shade of "Epson" blue by referring to it's RGB proportions either in values from 0 to 255 or the hexadecimal equivalents ( ie something like 40:10:242 or 28:0A:F2) so you could set the colour in any software graphics program. Perhaps a Meade dealer can tell you the colour specs for their stuff, and a decent paint shop should be able to mix a paint to suit?

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hey Thanks guys great stuff, I hope Mick reads this thread too, get his twopence worth, I will post pics when its finished, allthough it will look remarkably like the real McCoy. Looks like a trash can at the moment, Hard to get anything done out here in the country, had to make my own rolling machine, very primative but functional, Only if the aluminium is annealed , so I annealed it again bush mechanic style. had to hand make the little screw lock fittings because 1mm Aluminium just wont hold a thread "obviously" Just need to find some knobs like on Micks Rig. Going to flock the inside, the easy way, can of spray on adhesive and a bag of flock powder, Coming along well, weighs less than the lens cap..:D. had cosidered some kind of way of re using the original lens cap. but but that one in the too dangerous, big nastys to the corrector basket...So I guess a light weight lense cap cum hartman cum stop down is next on the list of DYI,s

Again Thanks

hi SirDystic, these are the dew shields that l make, there is no commercially available access to the Meade colour formula that l know, however being a spray painter l have mixed and formulated my own and according to a paint industrial spectrophotometer it is a perfect match.
PM me with your phone number and l will pass it on with some relevant info.
