Bye everyone! I'm heading way north for the winter. Lil Hubble (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=11358) is all packed. Never made first light here. Thanks Roger for the quick thinking with the improvised teflon pads. They worked a treat.

If all goes as planned I'll be spending much of the next month or so in the mountains of Bulgaria and Romania, and in Hungary. Should be plenty of opportunities for observing under dark northern skies. I'll try to post a brief first light if I can.

Have a great July! :) Catch you all early August. :hi:

Thanks for the good wishes! I'll try to drop in but I don't know what kind of internet access will be available. Some of the places I'm going to are unlikely to have any; traditional farming villages: horse-and-cart, all handtool farming, the milk bar is the neighbour's cow, the butcher shop and deli is the other neighbour with the pigs etc.

I am just reading baggage limits for KLM economy. It's a measly 20kg! What crooks! I am just over 25 with scope + clothes and still a few things to go in the suitcase. :scared:
