Tried my humble hand at capturing Cicadas exiting their shells which took from dusk to midnight.

Dslr, 1/4 sec exposures, some only 1-2 seconds apart, most others between 15 secs to a couple of minutes, with some periods as much as 5-10 minutes inbetween certain frames as once out of shell in the horozontal position, they do nothing much exciting for near an hour untill they gather strength to bend back up and reposition for their wing development, which take only another 5-10 mins.
Then they stay this way for over 2 hrs at least, so I gave up waiting, could have been there till day break otherwise

Lighting was only done with an LED headlight, positioning my nose just above the camera each time to reduce shadow flickering etc !

The timelapse consists of near 400 frames out of 500 taken. Lapse reduced to near 4min 20secs, from 5 hrs of capturing.
Music added.
Hope it worth a Squizz :P
