Hi Everyone,

This was the other image I took on Sunday night, it was taken on the following:

EQ8
WO Megrez 90mm Scope (Imaging scope)
WO Zenith Star 70mm Scope (Guide Scope)
LodeStar Guider
Central DS 600D

About 3 hours data but again no darks just flats and bias frames.

Cheers

Very nice Anthony

But why no darks? I find they're easier to acquire than flats.

Hi Rod,

My camera does not have temperature control and by the time the sun had come up it gets very hot so the difference between the light frames and dark frame temps would be too large so I didn't bother at this stage.

I am looking at a way to put the camera into a fridge of sorts and set the temp to that of ambient on the evening so I can replicate the conditions and generate the darks and will reprocess once I have these :)

Thanks everyone for the nice comments :)

Cheers

Nice work, looks good. Nice mount too, are you sure it wasn't struggling with the weights of the OTA's :D

Yet to try longer exposures on M45, you have picked up a fair amount of gas there too, well done.

Yeh not sure the EQ8 can handle it LOL  I just had another look at the image and JPEG really kills the quality :( Oh well I will redo this and take some darks to go with it as I can still see a lot of noise in the image.

Thanks again for the positive comments.

Cheers

Well Done Anthony

I just looked at the camera that you were using and the mod is well worth it as I can see the good images you do.

Now I am glad I did not sell the canon 5D mark 3 next year will send it away for the mod.
I got low ball offers for it anyway cost me ($4300) from Myers and it has only done around 550 shots so it will make a good astro camera.
Next year for the mod ........as Santa is bringing a EQ8 :eyepop: sHHhHhhhh iam not to know

;)

Ahh I see. The fridge idea will work. I've done it with the 60Da still connected to the laptop/BYE. I just keep monitoring the sensor temp and if it gets too cold I take the camera out for a couple of minutes, then put it back in when needed.
