NGC1672 and NGC1532 (NGC1055 added)

I redid these two galaxies over the last few nights to see how faint I could go with these galaxies. They both have very faint extentions that are difficult to resolve being 4.5Km form the CBD of BrisVegas.
I did 20 min subs with the QSI583WSG and 10" GSO RC and I found that the dome really helps reduce light pollution from my neighbours properties.
NGC1672 has particularly faint arms but I was pleased to see them in the final image. I have found that the light pollution really messes up the colour frames which are a real horror to process so I have left them for when I get to a dark site.

Ive been trying to get a few galaxies at the moment as Ive been inactive for quite a while, but finding that exposure times are limited being so close to Brisbane. I figure that the best I can do is 20-30min subs with the light pollution to just get some of the faint stuff around these galaxies. So I guess I wont be after any "jets".
I managed to get 120min in 20 min subs of NGC1055 just before the high altitude cloud came in last night. It was enough to show that this is a pretty side on galaxy but I then realized that M77 was just next door and that with the AP67 reducer I can get both in the same field of view. So I will be saving that for Friday (?) night.
Ive attached a small image of NGC1055 for what Ive got so far.

Are you sure that's NGC 1068, Allan? I looked it up and got images of a face on galaxy. A nice galaxy whatever it's called :thumbsup:

Rick, you are correct.
NGC1068 is M77 which I mean to image along with NGC1055.
Silly mistake and I have corrected it above.

Thanks for the comments, Rob. Ive found that I have to do 20 min subs here to even have a hope of registering some of the faint nebulosity. When I was at Astrofest I started out doing my usual 5min subs and then gradually increased that to 60 min subs. I found that with the latter the signal to noise ratio was so low that no darks etc were necessary for processing.
I was amazed that Rolf did 5 min subs to get this 120hr+ image of NGC5128. I thought that had hit the law of diminishing returns but he proved me wrong.
The observatory really works at keeping neighbours light to a low intrusion as well as any wind but I would love to image these galaxies at a dark site with long subs. But then I'd want a better scope and mount etc etc etc.
