View Full Version here: : Colorful night sky
Hi guys,
Few nights ago we witnessed quite a spectacular and colorful night sky here in Chile. On the attached panoramic image you can see the full color palette, mostly coming from airglow and galactic hydrogen. The prominent green waves, moving towards us from the southwest, is the airglow oxygen emission. The yellow glow close to the horizon (on the left, and on the right) are the lights of near-by towns.
Here is the image in higher resolution:

Wow, what a fantastic image, you have captured all the nebulae in and around Orion as well. What were the exposure lengths and capture details?

Impressive work, like your other image getting colour in the nebula like orion and eta carina is great.
What type of equiptment and exposure are you using? I'm sure getting away from the light pollution helps a great deal as well.

:eyepop:Amazing as always Yuri. Was this Saturday night? (Australian time, maybe Saturday morning for you?) I got very similar green and red bands in some of my images then. Still processing them at the moment.....

OMG amazing, great work :D
Thanks, guys ! I really appreciate your comments.
Thanks, Greg ! I just checked the image's time stamp - it was actually taken on the night of 29/30 November 2013. Looking forward to seeing your results ! :)
Oh, forgot to mention. I used Canon 6D and Nikkor 14-24 lens. The panorama consists of 9 images, with the exposure of 45 seconds each.
