Globulars don't seem too popular for some reason - I absolutely love 'em. This is NGC 1851, in Columba. RGB 18:18:18 min image from last night

Great looking cluster Jon. Nice and tight core. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Ah yes...globs are overlooked I guess.....for way more exciting GALAXIEEEES

That's a pretty nice result there though, with some nice colours and resolution showing, well done

Nice one. NGC6752 is a nice one too.

Greg.

Hello Jon,

Nice image!
I like globulars too - and you can generally get good results with shorter exposure times than galaxies. I do prefer images of galaxies but I don't have the clear skies and set-up for the longer exposures that most of them need to do them justice. Also globulars don't have the colour and beauty of nebulae.
The main negative with globulars is they do tend to be a bit "seen one seen them all" - but visually (in my telescope) they are my favorites. I nearly always have a look at ngc104, 5139 or 6752 and I always find them amazing.
Here is link to someone who has imaged nearly all of the GCs in the milky way. It is a good resource to choose globulars to image.

Cheers all.

Thanks Tony. I thought at having a go at as many of the 157 galactic globs as I could. So far I've got 28 :-)
