Excellent image, Ian-you have captured Barnards Loop and the North Orion Bubble in great detail :thumbsup:

The 50mm (Canon EF 50 F1.4) lens I used for this image is my favorite.
Not only it's optically very good but it also produces spikes (8-arm) on brighter stars ..

My attempt turned out quite like your first try, is it just the added Ha that made the difference?

What filter and exposure time did you use?

I used Astronomik clip-in Ha (12) filter.
The exposure time was 2-3min.

Very nice, Ian. That's an area of the sky that has so much to offer at many different scales. Lovely to see Barnard's Loop so clearly.
