A whopping 40 seconds luminence!

Impressive eh.

Set up so perfectly tonight - was getting 7 minute unguided test images with NIL trailing (Vixen GPD2 mount, Vixen DED108SS f/5 scope, SBIG ST-8XE). Was all set to do some Horsehead and the clouds come rolling in off the ocean. Not even any sucker holes any more - solid 8/8th's cloud.

253 was not even my target tonight... I had to capture SOMETHING before the blanket of cloud. The system told me I had last fired it up 20 days ago - the weather has been that great up here.

Anyway, enjoy... maybe there's a jet or 10 in there, and yes Mike, I counted 6749 house lights and 2391 street lights within a 23km radius of me :) ;P

Hey, yeh, crap image huh?

Now, had you got at least 1min of data...I recon we could have extracted the faint outer halo though ....

Sounds like you had some bad luck and I feel for you regarding your neighbours  at least my handful are considerate and usually turn of the last remaining porch light around 11pm

Yes the dreaded cloud curse. It usually happens just after you get everything working as it should.

Btw time to do the hobby and weather, time at the scope is valuable. Luckily the sky has amazing rewards for the effort.

Cross the fingers for good weather this weekend.

Justin.

Lewis.
The image has frost on the chip. Have you recharged the dessicant recently?

Terry,

I have not had time as yet, but will today - last night showed horrible frost for 5 hours!!!

Onto it.

Peter,

Wife was ill yesterday, so I cooked that sucker for 4 hours at 180°. Should be better, I hope!

Am considering to buy the Farpoint plugs with the replaceable desiccant pouches too.
