Hi all,
I feel I have to share my great customer experience with Ron Newman from Moonlite Focusers.
Earlier this year I purchased a second hand GSO RC8 along with a used Moonlite Focuser. With the help of fellow IISer's (Ted and Yugant) we worked out that the focuser was one of my main issues with getting collimation correct on my RC8. Ted put me in contact with Ron at Moonlite and Ron suggested I ship the focuser back to him for him to have a look at.
I did this and he replied with the following...
"--I changed the bearings and drawtube to the new heavy capacity style.
--Also updated the DC motor to the new slip clutch version for free.
--Swapped out the nylon tipped set screws on the flange as they were bad ( caused some of the error)
--Did a final laser collimation test-- dead on :)
--Checked tension on drawtube and made sure everything was correct."
This is just great customer service from him, especially considering I am the second owner of the focuser. Not only this but he also replaced parts for me for free. Sharing this great experience is the least I can do for Ron and I hope it gains him some more customers. I know I will not hesitate in the slightest to transact with him again in the future.
