Any ideas? Saw an adapter but is well over $100.

Was wondering if I can make something or buy some sort of bracket.

Anyone can share any thoughts? Would like to eventually attach it to my mount to track the Sun which will lead to imaging.

Stefan

Acquire some 50mm-60mm right angled aluminium 100mm long and 6mm thick and a 100mm vixen dovetail with the 1/4x20 threaded screw.
Drill and tap each flange of the angle to accept the 1/4x20 thread.

Attach vixen flange to outside of one bracket leg and attach PST to inside of other bracket leg.

Mount Vixen dovetail into PST and enjoy Solar viewing :)

Word of warning - the etalon tuning ring is below the flat basee of the telescope so the bracket cannot protrude further forward than the front end of the black telescope body.

Sounds good actually.

Any other alternatives?

Bugger Stefan I threw out a bintel right angle bracket with dovetail when I left Darwin , this would have been perfect , sorry mate .

You could use just a small dovetail fitted to the bottom of the PST box..
The PST would be sitting in the mount horizontal rather than vertical - so what....

Stefan,
Yes, that would be perfect for the job!

I am trying to think how the PST will sit on the bracket. Won't it be pointed too much towards the ground or does the SLT mount where the dovetail sits can be moved vertically?

The black box fits onto the bottom section with the 1/4" screw...this will bring the gold tube close to the centre of the vixen dovetail arm and when fitted to the SLT saddle should sit nicely....the eyepiece to the top.
Does that make sense to you??

Yeah it does.

Thanks!
