NGC 1360 & 1398 in Fornax.

Hi,

This is supposed to be a mosaic, but no matter what I tried the two images would not stitch together properly!!

There was plenty of overlap.

So I ended up blending the two images which worked quite well, not an accurate representation though.

Equipment used.
8” F/4 astrograph , baader type 3 coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D.

9 x 8 minute subs x 2, ISO 800 & 1600,darks, flats and bias frames applied.
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in Photoshop 7.

Looks superb to me, and like the others - I could never tell that it wasn't just one image. Interesting shot too - I haven't seen these two much before.

There's quite a few area's of sky that lend themselves to mosaics to put the amazing DSO's into perspective.

Justin I like your image and your choice of objects.
The PN NGC 1360 is about 1100 light years away.
NGC 1360 was discovered in January 1868 by the German astronomer Friedrich August Theodor Winnecke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_August_Theodor_Winnecke).
It is surprising that it was not found before that.
