Hi,

This is supposed to be a mosaic, but no matter what I tried the two images would not stitch together properly!!

There was plenty of overlap.

So I ended up blending the two images which worked quite well, not an accurate representation though.

Equipment used.
8” F/4 astrograph , baader type 3 coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D.

9 x 8 minute subs x 2, ISO 800 & 1600,darks, flats and bias frames applied.
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in Photoshop 7.

Cheers,

Justin.

If you didn't say it had an overlap issue I still couldn't tell it did.

Looks great.

Looks superb to me, and like the others - I could never tell that it wasn't just one image. Interesting shot too - I haven't seen these two much before.

Cheers,
Cam

Thanks Carl!

Thanks Rick!

Thanks Laurie !

Thanks Justin!

New camera arrived yet?

Thanks Cam!

There's quite a few area's of sky that lend themselves to mosaics to put the amazing DSO's into perspective.

Cheers,

Justin.

Justin I like your image and your choice of objects.
The PN NGC 1360 is about 1100 light years away.
NGC 1360 was discovered in January 1868 by the German astronomer Friedrich August Theodor Winnecke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_August_Theodor_Winnecke).
It is surprising that it was not found before that.

Thanks Steve!

I need to image both again, really like to do the mosaic properly.

Thanks Mike!

NGC 1360 is one degree from 1398.

Thanks Glen!

And thanks for the info on these DSO's!

Justin.

I'm shooting my first sub of this as I write. :)
I was thinking I was shooting something new and obscure, then I find your beautiful image here. LOL
I hope my rendition turns out as nice as this one.
