I normaly only image on the east side of the meridian due to the Brisbane city lights being to my west but this time I had a go at this faintish galaxy M61 on the nth/west side.

Pretty happy with the final image and very happy with how the mount was tracking....would have liked more of the spiral arms but what can I expect imaging at F10 2500mm Focal length.

20 x 4 minute autoguided exposure's ISO800
Canon 350D on 10" LX200R Losmandy G11 mount.

very nice , can really make out the spirals there, was this the one that had a SN discovered recently, or am i getting this one confused with something else?

Tony that is awesome mate.
It must be tiny, wow.
The mount has tracked it beautifully.

It reminds me of a satellite image of a cyclone at night (if that is ever possible).

Good shot there. Nothing wrong with shooting galaxies at F10 :)

Thanks guys,

Not as spectacular to look at then most of my other brighter DSO's but just as fun to image.

I reckon it looks killer, but so long as your enjoying it, that's all that really matters :)
