This photo was taken in July during our 4 day camp out at Chillagoe in North Queensland. It is known as Balancing Rock. Chillagoe is an amazing place full of ancient caves, strange rocky outcrops with very interesting patterns on them. Marble is also mined there. There is an abandoned copper smelter and the home to a prehistoric Elasmosour. Plus the wonderful flora and fauna and wow the view of the stars on a moonless night is to die for. I can't wait to go back out there. Next time I will do a long exposure of those stars (the milky way). It's a quiet little outback town.

An ancient coral reef covered the entire region. The marble from the region was created when the limestone was heated and was metamorphosed (Spelling and context?)

That's right Tony, I also have a photo in my personal collection where you can see what looks like ancient coral showing through a limestone rock near the same area.
