Coaxing a broken tail from Comet ISON 19th Nov Brisbane

OK, I was determined to see what this comet is going to do. After a recent flare up the clouds were finally clear this morning to let me take some photos. I drove over to Lota - bayside Brisbane - for a clear horizon. The Moon was up and the sky was getting lighter. Here's some very processed images, which show a discontinuity in the tail. Spica is 2 degrees from the comet in this pic.

How do you do it Tom ? Ive been out last month a few times to catch this comet whilst no clouds around and set up then clouds roll in, you go out with all the stormage etc about and it clears up :rolleyes: c'mon, spill the beans ;)

Thanks for posting your latest image, I was wondering what was happening as well. I went for a drive to make another attempt to see Ison through my 7x50 bino's. As mentioned in another post, it looks like Ison is the comet that got away on me.

awesome. Tom, a newbie question. So you didnt use any telescope but just a 200mm lens on a Canon EOS 600D ?

Thanks guys. Niv yep it is the Canon and 200mm lens, with Vixen Polarie as pictured. The comet images are cropped.
Hi Stu yep it was visible in 9x63s with averted vision. It is a tough object.
Bob I set the alarm and look out the window each day! I had a feeling yesterday would be clear.
