Hi I'm new to this site, and was wondering if anyone could help me with a rough idea on how much to sell a two and a half year old Meade LX200 10 inch telescope for? It is in very good condition and barely used. It would include planetary 9mm eyepiece, illuminated reticle eyepiece, premium zoom eyepiece, eyepiece holder and T adapter for camera. Any advice would be greatful.

Considering it would be around $3500 brand new, i wouldnt sell it for less than $2000 maybe?

We paid around $5000 for it brand new, and they still sell for that on the bintel website now.

Hi James,

The $5000.00 one on the website is actually the new LX200-ACF which is a newer more expensive design than the old LX200.

From what I have seen $2000 or Just under $2000 is on average the starting price.

A 2.5yo LX200 would be an ACF model though.

I wouldn't have thought that you could get an older style one, unless it was bought second hand 2.5 years ago. That would be a very different story then.

I just sold the 10" Meade LX50 for a grand, if that helps.

It was brand new 2.5 years ago so yes it would be the ACF version

No need to guess - the decal on each side of the OTA should say, "LX200ACF".

yeh it does definitely say that.

I always think a good starting point for second hand goods if the gear is in good condition is around 70% the original price.
From there you can see if you need to drop the price further if nobody wants to pay it.

Thank you Jarrod, I think we will start roughly around that price.

I think $2000 is reasonable
