...but it's mine.
Finally got all my subs on NGC253 to properly align and stack after removing bad dithering artifacts from the blue layer (MaxIM had not settled before starting the blue - odd, as I had set the guider to settle within 0.10 pix before starting exposure).
Details are:
Vixen DED108SS f/5 astrograph refractor
SBIG ST-8XE CCD with Astronomik LRGB and 6nm H-a
LRGB: 9:9:9:9 H-a: 20
Seeing was average, and the focus was off a little (obvious by those traffic light stars :) The data amount is SMALL, as NGC253 was near zenith when I imaged it, and did not continue after zenith. I will collect more yet.
I am happy with my progress - it's my first decent LRGB image, but I know it is no masterpiece, more a big amateur trying to make the best of the data he's got ;) (it's not QUITE black clipped...almost, but not )
Big one (in all it's problematic glory): http://www.astrobin.com/full/63379/0/
Not meant to be a definitive result by any stretch as it is just a trial for me to get a hang of combining LRGB-Ha into colour. I did not even subtract any calibration frames from it (apart from MaxIM auto-darks) - this is pure dithered-ness :)
EDIT: read and applied some of the Starizona tips and produced the new result - leaps and bound ahead of the old one :) Opinions? (NEW ON THE RIGHT) http://www.astrobin.com/63461/
3rd and 4th redux added - another technique...
